I just finished a gift for a friend. It is 1.8” thick and the carving in 1.55” deep. I definitely used a roughing pass on this one. Roughing with IDC Woodcraft 1:4” hog, first pass 2mm tbn Final pass 0.5mm tbn

We have a gate so I added my phone number in case somebody needs in that doesn't have the code. It's also helpful for delivery drivers. This is on cedar from a tree harvested at a friends house and I used a diamond textured background. I kept the rough edge at the top and used a LOTR font from my wife's favorite movie.

A address sign I did for our home. The base is made from a old farm house roof that was being torn down and the numbers are made from figured maple designed in carve pro.

Here's a house number sign I made for my wife. She loves dahlia's so I took a photo of one of her dahlia blooms and Sketch Carved it and our house number into a piece of Corian. This is actually the second one, first one on the profile cut my Muscle Chuck came apart and ruined the piece. I'm not too impressed with that thing for near $80 for sure. Used a 1/4" round over bit on the edge and cut some keyhole slots in the back. That was the first time using the Keyhole Gadget since upgrading to V12 Pro. .

Made this sign out of King Colorcore HDPE. The material is 1/2" thick, black on each side and white in the center. I cut thru the black (approximately 3/32" deep) to expose the white center. This was for a home in Florida. Added the State of Ohio with a star showing the approximate area where the couple is from.

I’ve been using charcuterie board purchased at Costco (very inexpensive) to cut pattern then carve signs for some of my neighbors. Carve then hand paint then spar varnish, simple but neighbors liked them.

New to CNC, This is my first attempt at this. Sketch Carved my house picture and saved out as jpg image. Brought back in to Vcarve Pro to convert to SVG. Having a lot of fun. Thanks Kyle for sharing all your knowledge, makes the learning curve much shorter.

This address sign is 10 inches by 15 inches. The border frame is textured. It Has a 2D dog and 3D cat. Total carve was with 4 bits and took 5 hours 23 minutes.

I made this address sign out of pvc material in the shape of a Buffalo. I painted the white pvc black and carved the numbers in it.

A recent set of catfish related catchall trays I designed and cut for some work associates of mine (the upper set us in Maple while the lower is in poplar)

Inlay Tray Base is end grain walnut, I find that the end grain provides better quality inlays for fine detail using a TBN bit. Sides are Cherry.

First attempt at epoxy inlays. This was a test cut and I made the mistake of cutting the initial carve with a 90 V, when the job was set for a 60 on the first carve, which threw off the geometry for the rest of the carve. I almost threw it in the burn pile right away, but decided to continue with the process to get some practice. Definitely learned a lot from the making myself complete it anyway. On to the next.

I used a solid surface material call corian to make these plant stands. The stand on the left has some light green streaks in the material and used a bisque color corian for the top. The other one is white corian for the base and a gray piece of corian for the top. One is 10" high and the other is 7" high.

One nice thing about Vectric is there is always a work around for older versions. I have 10.5 and have not upgrade due to cost. After seeing the sketch feature, I decided to try using picture editor, trace bitmap and node editor. I used my Inkpen attachment . It took about 30 minutes but I have more time than money.

Made this thru-tenon footstool on the CNC for a new born baby gift. Used AI-Co Pilot to design an image of "baby Odin - Norse Mythological god". Super imposed baby Odin's face onto the AI designed image then lasered it on the footstool top. Simple CNC, simple laser but the AI was a great new experience - thanks to Kyle.

Here's a project, epoxy inlay, I complete a couple of weeks ago, This gentleman, Sgt Steve Smith, 18 at the time, enlisted in the Marines in the Summer of 1964. In October of '64, after boot camp, He and his battalion was sent on a top secret combat tour to Vietnam, which they could not talk about until after the 1964 election. He then did another combat tour in 1966. I decided to do an inlay of the "eagle, globe and anchor" in honor of his service to our country. A shout out to Shane Peters who helped me with this project

Made this for a friend's wife . She spent time living in Japan . These jewelry trays are made from Ash and used the sketch carving to engrave the designs inside the tray.

I just got my cnc about a month ago. This is the first project I made. It's a plaque for my son. I'm a full-time single dad. I've been solo parenting my son since he was 6mo old - he's almost 10 now. This is just to remind him that dad will always love him. "Just the 2 of us" is a lyric from a song that he latched on to when he was younger and has been something we say often at times when things get rough. Since this I haven't completed a finished project, but i've screwed up quite a few LOL.

First Wall Art File carve in several years. Carved on Cherry using a 3/8" ballnose for rough cut and 1/8" tapered ballnose for finish cut. Cut on 0.70" Cherry. Imported purchased STL file. Need to start develoiping some of my own art but wanted to carve something to get started. Now it's time to take it over the "finish line" - Punn Intended....

I did this sketch carving from a pic I found it using copilot. Kyle's video helped a lot. I put 2 coats of finish on before I put oramask on, than I used a 30 deg v bit carving thru the oramask and sprayed it black and peeled off the oramask and put a finish coat on.

I went on copilot today, asked for a CNC wood carving clip art style, then a text of “Let's carve something today!” This is what I got. I carved it on a spray painted flat black (12” x 24”) board with a 60° V bit. Love the scull on the front of the CNC bed! It is perfect for a sign behind my CNC! Little encouragement goes along ways! :-)

I did this sketch carving and then also combined the photo vcarve to it. Sigh for my daughter who loves to grill.

Hi, I made this crib board from a file from Vectric (Beki) on my CNC. The cover is Sketch Carved and made from a 3D file I purchased from Etsy. The Cribbage board & Cover is made from Hardwood - Birch, with a mixture of Dark and Light. I finish it with a clear satin finish.

We were leaving town for a few weeks so I only had a few days to try out the Sketch Carve toolpath. Used Copilot to generate an image of some Shorebirds along the seashore with guls in the background. Would have like to have more time to clean this up as its a little busy for my tastes. Used the tried and true method that Kyle suggests. Carve, seal, paint, sand, finish coat. I used wipe on poly for finish coat. Carved in Cherry w/60 deg Vbit. I'm really looking forward to exploring more options with this toolpath when I get back in the shop.

I created this for my neighbors who jar their own honey. I took a photo of the label on the jar and imported the image into V-Carve Pro. I created a pocket 1/8" deep, Sketch Carved the image w/ a 60 deg V-Bit, cut it out and chamfered the outer edge. Sanded w/ 240 grit and applied 3 coats of shellac. Filled the carve w/ black acrylic paint and once dry, sanded with 120 and 240. Finally, applied a coat of lacquer. This was my first effort using Sketch Carving. I like the result very much!

This project was a lot hard than I thought it would be. A friend made some a longtime ago with his Shopsmith so I said if he could do I could do it, I didn’t think it would be hard on the CNC. I design it up and added some of the Vectric features like fluting and chamfers, the biggest issue was the slot in the side, I had to drill it out and cut it with a saber saw. The other thing was glue shows after a spray it. But for the first one I will know what to look far.

I am using Kyle’s guidelines to create plaques. I create the bitmap in Copilot AI, image trace, and then VCarve. It takes less than 30 minutes to define the picture, vectorize it, clean up the vectors, and export the gcode.

Did another lithophane of my daughter and my son in law and the grandkids. The size is 6" x 12-1/2" I used a 1/32" tapered ball nose bit with a stepover of 11% took roughly 3-1/2 hrs

my daughter in law likes to walk her dog in a less than safe park so I made her this “dog walking tool” for a little extra protection.

Not finished yet...I had my wife paint the daffodils as the customer requested - actual varieties of the flower - despite an art degree (photography) this was not a painting job for me. This is a double-sided sign that will be glued together and have a border around it...all in Kleer Lumber (PVC) and then clear coated - 25"x37"

Hi, this is my first time entering a challenge, my main goal was to show what I was able do with sketch carve. I give some of these away to my local businesses in order to get my name out there. My local sub shop does not really have a logo and when I asked , they said surprise them. I started by using Ai, Copilot. It worked ok except for the center name was misspelled so had to put a vector around it and used the quick engrave tool path. So what I did was use the image from Ai and the sketch carve tool path but instead of using the 60V bit I put a flat depth of .15 inches and used a 90 degree diamond drag bit, set to top of material. I reversed the image and never turned the spindle on. There a few screen shots to show my settings. Also made this base with Vcarve Pro. and installed some LED lights. This was made in February for a good friends son, who is a college freshman. While looking for ideas on a different take on this style of chair, I came across a video that suggested using magnets and dowels to hold/support the two pieces together. This was the end result, with the school mascot CNC’d on the front; with dowels, magnets, and bottle opener CNC’d on the back side of the back rest. His son got it this past week and absolutely loved it. My biggest ‘miss’ is that I put the handles too low, so the center of gravity when carrying isn’t quite right. Made of simple 2x12 pine from a local big box store. Bottle opener was painted to match the school colors.

Wood Carved -Wine & Grapevine Patio Bench - "Cheers" Live Edge Figured Maple. "Everything Gets Better with Age" (46"L X 20"W X 34"H) This is 3D Carved highly figured live edge with grapevine bordering the top portion of the bench back. A tray of wine glasses and a bottle of wine completes it. Bench sits on powder coated, Charcoal Faras Metal Legs. Made Summer of 2023.

Small camping chair made from marine plywood. Last two photos taken on 03/11/24 which is about two years after being outside in Oregon weather. Nesting was the biggest challenge. Common cuts made all difference so one chair would fit on a quarter sheet of plywood. Max, at timberlane.cnc, and I collaborated on this project. The chair is great for camping because the seat slides snuggling into the backrest for easy transport.

This is not necessarily what one might associate with "outdoor projects". I am a member of the New Hampshire Sons of the American Revolution - one of our activities is that our Color Guard will do grave markings of Revolutionary War Patriots. The markers are brass and often removed by opportunists looking to have a collectible item or to sell it for scrap. I took one of the original markers, photographed it had a model made, and then carved it in HDU - finishing it to look like metal. Attached is the original and my carve.

Finished this walleye inlay tray with epoxy coating for the cabin. The bottom is walnut, and the inlay is maple. the sides are walnut and ash. the tray will be used to take refreshments and snacks out to the campfire.

Drink table for fire pit with an optional base. It can be pushed into the ground or set in the base. Finished with marine varnish. I used webbing under the holes to support the drink cans and one under the hand slot to hold your cell phone. I folds up for easy transport for storage or camping. I used screen door hook and eye to latch it in the open position.

I am new to the group and this is my first challenge An outdoor mud kitchen for my granddaughter, sign, spatulas, knobs, stove elements and hole for the sink done with VCarve Pro and creat with my Sienci Longmill MK2

Just finished a 5" x 7" lithophane using a piece of 1/4" white corian which is a solid surface material. I used a 1/16" tapered ball nose bit with a 8% stepover with a feed rate of 175 ipm and a plunge rate of 175 ipm and a raster angle of 315 deg with is the lower left corner using aspire. It took 2 hrs to carve on my cnc shark.

making this project for our Woodcraft show next month. I also wanted to honor my Dad who was a WW11 prisoner of war. he spent 3 and a half years in a POW camp. The main piece is Cherry and the frame is Purple heart.

This is a piece of 3/8" cast acrylic which I carve a 3D model of the praying hands. The hands and lettering are done on the back side where I used a 1/16" tapered ball nose for the lettering, you can also use a v bit on acrylic which I have done many of times. I used a 1/8" tapered ball nose bit for the hands which are carved about .3 deep The 3D model is recessed in the acrylic.

Designed this after the class on AI and 3d modeling. I added the frame and the accents to the corners with Aspire. Hope it carves as well as it looks. cant wait to carve it!

I just finished 6 signs that are being donated for a first responder fundraiser held by The Ray Pfeifer Foundation - https://theraypfeiferfoundation.org/. The 9/11 signs were done on my laser and the NYPD & FDNY signs were made from 1/2" MDF on the CNC.

I was introduced to someone by a neighbor in November who I never met, but who lives around the block from me. He said he saw that I had a wood shop from walking by my house when the shop doors are open and asked if I'd be interested in some wood that he had. He's retired now, but he worked at an exotic wood mill years ago. He said he had rosewood that he's had for at least 30 years. He told me they're heavy and he's tired of moving them around his garage to make room. I've since learned all Rosewood is now under CITES protection and is near impossible to get. CITES stands for Convention of International Trade of Endangered Species of Flora and Fauna. The rules say that if you want to move anything made of the woods stated in the regulations, you need export papers to do so, along with accompanying certification about where that timber came from and when it was harvested. That even applies to vintage guitars made before CITES covered these woods! So, it's fair to say I never would have had the opportunity to work with it if I hadn't met him. I've wanted to make something from it to give him as a thank you gift. I finally got around to making a catch-all tray. Here's some pics of the wood and the tray so far, I'm still applying tung oil finish to it and then need to polish it. The wood is very heavy and dense, it reminds me of cocobolo.

Hello, I love sea horses Have done this and a few others. Inspiration from pictures I got from Ai. Unfortunately, many people think that you can just let ai generate stl files, which in this case is not true. It takes a lot of knowledge and sculpting in aspire for you to achieve a good bas-relief. This was a 32 hour carve. Started with 1 1/2" Ash to get height of all the 3D. Used Raymond Kinmond's painting techniques here!

Finished my weekend project, designed in sketch up, imported into v carve and cut on my cnc. It cut quickly with a 1/4" compression bit.

Just finished this pizza peel, in vcarve pro using flouting toolpath , I use tray bit for carving the taper for fast results

I made a Home Sweet Home Plaque out of maple. I got the shape and football from the clipart in aspire. The font I used is called AlgerianBasD and created the curved shape of the letters .14 high and used a 1/16" tapered ball nose with a stepover of 12% for finishing toolpath, no roughing toolpath. Also I used a 90 deg v bit for the chamfer around the edge.

This may not be appropriate since I did this in Lightburn. If so, please delete. This is the same graphic that I started out with for the carved dragon that I posted last week. This time, I took the graphic, imported it into Lightburn and burned it onto a painted ceramic tile. I used a 10w laser module attached to my CNC router.

Thanks for the help on the Q&A material was in fact not flat! luckily that was the prototype. here is the final result. Really pleased with the molding, texture, and keyhole slot toolpaths... all firsts for me!

Black Walnut/Red Oak Post Office Door Bank & Jewelry Box This is made with Black Walnut and Red Oak. It is a Jewelry Box and Bank, with an authentic 1906 Post Office Door with a combination lock. Top is done with molding toolpath and 3D carved, Drawers are hollowed out with CNC pockets from solid walnut and Front is profile cutouts for PO Door and drawers. Side joints are hand held router cut using “Fast Joint” jig. It is 15" wide X 8" deep x 10" high.

This is a small jewelry box I made for my wife on Valentine's day a couple years ago. She always cherished it. There is engraving inside the lid, but not enough room to put that in the picture also. I used a texturing process with a vbit, that I learned in a Vectic Tips and Tricks lesson, to texture the lid. The rest including the pocket for the lid was my own design (before Kyle's lesson on 2/8/2024). It was nice to see what I did was being validated by what Kyle wa teaching. This is made from Purple Heart which turned out to replicate the color of the heart.

The jewelry box is made of cherry and is 7” in diameter. The filigree around the outside is a Vectric clipart, I modeled the heart in the center using the Celtic Weave Creator Gadget. It has four small magnets to hold the top secure as we learned in the Box Project Lesson. .Fun little project.

Today home with a tennis elbow that hurt alot. I have ofc worked as usual :) My creality scan lizzard was working all day :) Scanned my sons ceramic statues i bought in Thailand many years ago. I also scanned the handle for a competition pistol for a friend. I love all the things we do with all the learning involved in each moment

Just finished my first combination sign with a 3D carve. Pretty happy with the results. The client really loved it and that's all that really matters.

Made this edge lit acrylic using cast acrylic and diamond drag bit. The size is 9" wide and 7" high. it's lit with red leds and I make my own bases.

Hello friends, this is a sign for a new cafe. A fallen military member had aspirations of opening her own cafe when she retired from the service, but she passed before she could make it a reality. A coalition of family, friends, and military brothers and sister banned together, and opened a cafe in her honor in Connecticut. I was fortunate enough to be commissioned to make the sign for the cafe, seen here. It is solid maple, resin inlays, and texturing. wanted to make my own Celtic knot. I found a pattern I liked and drew it in Vectric. I array copied it and then used the trim tool to make an oval. Vcarved with a 60 degree v bite.

Seashell box for a Valentines Day gift for my wife. Was looking to improve my ability to set up double sided 3D projects. Lots of "fun" especially getting the vectors set up to create a nice clean lid fit. Mahogany with Teak oil finish.
